The top three sides played the bottom three in the final home-and-away round in the GSFL Sixteens on Saturday, with the dominant sides all having confidence-boosting victories before finals this weekend.
Up at McLean Oval, Railways got off to a flyer against Denmark-Walpole and built on that lead throughout the match before cruising through the final quarter to record a 10.7 (67) to 4.6 (30) victory.
Tigers captain Brock Lathbury was again the most dangerous forward on the ground with four goals, as Braxton Drummond, Hayden Leo and Tate Buchanan were prominent.
For the Magpies, the consistent Ryan Hick was again amongst the best, supported by Samuel Marshall, Jayden Ross and Jed Loton.
At Retravision Stadium, it was an off-target Albany taking on Mount Barker as the Sharks kicked 2.6 in the opening term.
They found their range in the latter part of the game to win 11.14 (80) to the Bulls 5.2 (32).
Skilled son-of-a-gun James Taylor finished with three goals as Declan Reid, Clay Harrington and Joshua Sanders played well.
Bulls captain Jared Ballard is having a fantastic year and kicked two to be their best player (again), alongside Deagen Toovey, Lincoln Large and William Glasby.
Royals tuned up for finals, recording a solid 8.12 (60) to North Albany 5.3 (33) victory at Collingwood Park on Saturday.
Sixteens leading goalscorer Buddy Robinson booted three, taking his season tally to 46 goals to clinch the title, as Zeus Moylan-Jonson, Valentino Armugam and captain Natale Trichilo got plenty of the footy for the Lions.
Kangas’ best were Xaxier Whitby, Rory Sutherland and Tyler Simpson.
This Saturday, Albany are at home to Railways in the Qualifying Final, and the following day, Royals host Denmark-Walpole, also at Retravision Stadium with both games kicking off at 9.10am.
