Albany will finish on top of the GSFL Sixteens ladder after they clinically disposed of third-placed Railways on Sunday at Tigerland.

In stunning conditions, neither side could capitalise as the first quarter finished with only one solitary point apiece.

Both teams finally slotted the big sticks in the second term, but it was a low-scoring contest and at half-time, the Sharks were up only two goals to one.

Despite the Tigers only scoring one goal until the final term, they were weirdly still in with a chance to win the game, until Albany finally unleashed, piling on five goals in the final stanza to win 8.6 (54) to 2.2 (14).

Hudson Ramm was dangerous with three goals, as usual suspects James Taylor, Oliver O’Dea and Mason McCandless got plenty of the footy.

Railways were best served by Brock Wilkinson, Harrison McLeod and Beau Veldman.

On Saturday, Royals warmed up for finals with a comfortable win over Denmark-Walpole, finishing with 10.11 (71) to 3.5 (23).

Son-of-a-gun Billy McRae was a force up forward with five goals as Valentino Armugan, Cooper Edwards and Tadhg Mills were prominent for the victors.

Toby McInnes kicked two for the Magpies, with their best players Adyn Reid, Yuma Jones and Marcus Visser.

The final game had North Albany record their fourth victory of the season over Mount Barker at Sounness Park, icing the game with a four-goal final term to score 12.10 (82) to a woefully inaccurate Bulls side 4.13 (37).

Zane Cairns booted four goals, with the consistent Dylan Bennett, Coby Ravenhill and Henry Smith performing well for the Kangas.

Cody Scanlan kicked a couple for the Bulls, whilst captain Jared Ballard continued his fantastic form, alongside Brock Pearce and Benjamin Speedy.

This Saturday in the final home-and-away round, Denmark-Walpole host Railways at McLean Oval at 9.10am, Albany are at home to Mount Barker at Retravision Stadium at 11am, and North Albany play Royals at Collingwood Park, also at 11am.
